R.W.B.Y: Grim Eclipse review

An non-profit fan indie survival based action game,  based on  "Rooster Teeth's " anime still series  "R.W.B.Y"  on YouTube created byJordan Scott  for the celebration of  their 11th Anniversary .

The game is a basic mixture of RPG, hack-and-slash and a wave battle game, that makes it addicting to play, as to watch , nontheless  just a mish-mash of Jordan Scott personal favorites (KH, DMC, FF, Mystic Heroes). Playing as  the main charterer Ruby Rose in the red trailer scenario -a snowy mountain were Beowolves attack her - Ruby must survive wave bay wave, cutting through them using her sniper rifle / scythe  and its various ability witch are organized in a kingdom hearts style menus located on the bottom left corner of  the screen. In the bottom right corner of the screen there's the life, mana, ammo clip counter and exp bar.

As an RPG you grow stronger every time you kill a certain number of enemy's and fill the exp bar,thus gaining  new abilities . A dead enemy may drop a box with potions (meant to heal you of course!) and ammo (bang-bang!), some of Ruby skills depend on her mana, but other skills just like in the series, they dependent on Ruby having bullets (witch is a nice and cool detail). monsters even when you level up they still take large chunks of your life( just like eating  a chocolate bar,or a large chunk of meat (Luffy One piece XD) !) and through out the waves the more the merrier. The original sound track of "Jeff Williams Feat. Casey Williams"

 is present even if is only one theme but its great specially if you are a major fan of the series, and this game has also dismemberment.

And so said the game has an incredible potential  and to be even greater game, and you can see that it is in its early days, it has some problems: some skills tend to be useless, the camera has times that doesn't cooperate, combat feel´s a beat klunki and repetitive, and the enemy tend to over power you very quickly when their number star to grow, forcing you to have to play safe when you would prefer to go all on attack .

In other words the game has thing´s that can be fixed  and other that can be added, from the menu you already know that there are going to be other playable character's probably (Yang , Blake, Wiess and probably the other main character like......NORA!), typical rpg still character customization is present  but is limited  and that you may end up crafting a team, formed of the future playable characters. The game has no story as I said it, only follows the role of the red trailer but it would be a great to add one if the game followed the may story of the series or if it had its unique story, weapon customization is a good add to the game as well, monsters are all the same ,the game needs other types of enemy's ,like some flying ones or probably some bosses and finally other game mods like a Co-op(similar to "senran kagura versus"for psp vita- Don't take the story behind the game  personally ,but take more interest in the this addicting gameplay. ) or vs ( as to "Naruto ultimate ninja" and "league of legends")  mod.

Again i say that this game is great and every one should try out   even if you aren't a RWBY fan,Jordan Scott did a great Work and i just hope that will hear me and see my review and think a bit about  what i said he could change and add  in the game
