R.W.B.Y: Grim Eclipse review

An non-profit fan indie survival based action game,  based on  "Rooster Teeth's " anime still series  "R.W.B.Y"  on YouTube created byJordan Scott  for the celebration of  their 11th Anniversary .

The game is a basic mixture of RPG, hack-and-slash and a wave battle game, that makes it addicting to play, as to watch , nontheless  just a mish-mash of Jordan Scott personal favorites (KH, DMC, FF, Mystic Heroes). Playing as  the main charterer Ruby Rose in the red trailer scenario -a snowy mountain were Beowolves attack her - Ruby must survive wave bay wave, cutting through them using her sniper rifle / scythe  and its various ability witch are organized in a kingdom hearts style menus located on the bottom left corner of  the screen. In the bottom right corner of the screen there's the life, mana, ammo clip counter and exp bar.
As an RPG you grow stronger every time you kill a certain number of enemy's and fill the exp bar, thus gaining  new abilities . A dead enemy may drop a box with potions (meant to heal you of course!) and ammo (bang-bang!), some of Ruby skills depend on her mana, but other skills just like in the series, they dependent on Ruby having bullets (witch is a nice and cool detail). monsters even when you level up they still take large chunks of your life( just like eating  a chocolate bar,or a large chunk of meat (Luffy One piece XD) !) and through out the waves the more the merrier. The original sound track of "Jeff Williams Feat. Casey Williams"
is present even if is only one theme but its great specially if you are a major fan of the series, and this game has also dismemberment.

And so said the game has an incredible potential  and to be even greater game, and you can see that it is in its early days, it has some problems: some skills tend to be useless, the camera has times that doesn't cooperate, combat feel´s a beat klunki and repetitive, and the enemy tend to over power you very quickly when their number star to grow, forcing you to have to play safe when you would prefer to go all on attack .

In other words the game has thing´s that can be fixed  and other that can be added, from the menu you already know that there are going to be other playable character's probably (Yang , Blake, Wiess and probably the other main character like......NORA!), typical rpg still character customization is present  but is limited  and that you may end up crafting a team, formed of the future playable characters. The game has no story as I said it, only follows the role of the red trailer but it would be a great to add one if the game followed the may story of the series or if it had its unique story, weapon customization is a good add to the game as well, monsters are all the same ,the game needs other types of enemy's ,like some flying ones or probably some bosses and finally other game mods like a Co-op(similar to "senran kagura versus"for psp vita- Don't take the story behind the game  personally ,but take more interest in the this addicting gameplay. ) or vs ( as to "Naruto ultimate ninja" and "league of legends")  mod.
Again i say that this game is great and every one should try out   even if you aren't a RWBY fan,Jordan Scott did a great Work and i just hope that will hear me and see my review and think a bit about  what i said he could change and add  in the game

So this is my verdict:

5.5/10

That is the score.

Ib review

When your younger self  visits an art gallery together with her family, the least of your worries is to get lost, right? This happens. But still; this is the least of her worries. Your world is turned upside down when the gallery comes to life, trapping you within a space where the exhibitions are malevolent and do not take kindly to intruders. All of this happen in the game of Ib ( jesus crist am i going to die).
Ib is a Japanese horror game. It wokes around a quiet little girl named "Ib" presumably nine years old, who visits an art gallery with her parents. She starts to wander around until she find out that everyone has missing. Ib ends up entering a painting into a fabricated crazed world ( the artist's world), filled with monsters such as headless mannequins, half women half paintings, evil dolls and more..much more ( hurrayyyy, monsters.. oh hell, forgot my gun)
Ib must escape this horror-filled museum before her sanity slips or the gallery traps her there forever, by solving puzzel´s, with the help of Garry  who is also trapped in the strange museum.

He accompanies Ib throughout the game, making a father/daughter our  brother/ sister ( it´s your point of view) relationship. Garry is around eighteen. Also along the way, Garry and Ib meet Mary, a girl from the artist's last painting before he died. She appears to be a normal girl, but inside is psychotic and lonely. Her motives throughout the game tore into my heart. A lot of fans despise Mary for her actions later in the game, but she did it out of jealousy and loneliness.
I never thought I would ever find an 8-bit game with a mouthful of story since Corpse Party ( i playded but i hated it ) ever again, but Japan did it again!(Why can't there be an ending where everyone gets out alive? Oh yeah, that's right, this is a horror game.......... fuck you game logic. Dam .... wait! There is a game were every one live at the end its  "Alan wake" fuck you logic - i will do its review soon in enough )
in terms of different mechanic´s that aren't in a regular rpg maker game ,both Garry and Ib's health is represented by roses, Ib's being red roses, symbolic of "love" and Garry's being blue roses symbolic for "impossible miracles" And Mary,  she has a yellow rose, symbolic for "thin jealousy," which becomes very clear later on when she spends more and more time with Ib and Garry (she disapproves of Garry's friendship with Ib and wants her for herself). The game has TEN different endings.(I´m not going to spoil them).
So plain and simple wonderful game with lovable  characters . Ib's a sweet, determined child who puts on a brave face no matter how upset she is. Garry acts realistically frightened of the gallery but will step up for Ib's sake no matter the danger to himself or his fear. And Mary is a lonely little girl who's hopeful to find a friend  and be happy ,that she's been denied for so long.wonderful  story, but  the biggest low point is that the game is it´s horror factor     (is..well...weak). I wasn't very scared by the game, more intrigued by the story.Ib is a wonderful game which can appeal to horror fans, even if there was little horror, and fans of games with a good story behind it.

So this is my veredict:

5.5/10

that´s the score

Asura´s Wrath Review

What equals "Dragon Ball´s (over the top) power levels" + "Naruto's cool moves and skills" + "Bleach´s badass characters" being a video game just like street-fighter?

The answer for the one million dollar question is...  "Asura´s Wrath "

Asura's Wrath is not like any game you have ever played before (it is totally mind blowing... Hell yeah!) - it is a rarity - if you've been playing games for a long time. It is mostly a living and breathing anime than traditional action game. It delivers a story that is "up there", with the best that gaming has to offer in visual spectacle (mind blow), though it looks more like a film, and rather shies away from actually being a game... but who cares it´s awesome!
Time to fly
The game's story spans 12,000 years and follows the story of Asura, a demi-god, who his said that he was betrayed by his fellow gods and thrown out of heaven. He loses his wife and daughter to a power-plot dreamed up by the other deities, and finds himself resurrected centuries later through the sheer force of his anger. As he comes back to life, he notices how the world is in chaos due to his former comrades, which in turn forces his rage to get stronger and stronger, leading to some incredible scenes of over-the-top, fantastical violence, anime style (spoiler alert please close you eyes or jump this part ).

You'll see some astonishing things, examples of which are: the Earth exploding into a gigantic laser-shooting maw, a sword so long it can cleave the Moon in two, and Asura regularly punching people so hard that they literally go into orbit.

It is best described as an interactive anime box-set. The game is split into 18 episodes (with a secret unlockable, one at the end) and (of course capcom ) 4 extra episodes that you can only get by paying for the DLC. In two of these, we fight against Ryu and Akuma from "Street Fighter" in a beat 'em up style. Each one of the episodes has a length of about 20 minutes, and  is ended by gorgeously illustrated bumpers and adorned with credits just like a real television show; there is even a narrated preview before each one that hints at what's about to happen.
Each one of these episodes features completely different game-play, dependent on the scenario. (Spoiler alert please close you eyes or jump this part )
He is angry... (No shit!)

In one episode, you might punch, kick, or even headbutt monsters to death, while in the next episode you are shooting them in space. After, you may be engaged in an epic anime-style one-on-one confrontation on the moon. In one episode, the objective is to stop Asura from being a pervert: I am talking about big boobies! (I'm not making that up! They were huge! Couldn't stop staring at them!)
Add some tail´s and it looks just like Naruto in Kyubi mode, or add the yellow spiky hair and it´s Goku...

The static illustrations that feature between episodes are gorgeously detailed too – as you might expect from a studio (CyberConnect 2) whose staff are filled passion for manga and anime.
For me, the game is one of the best, but as I said before, it is short; most of  time you're watching rather than playing: you're lucky if any given episode gives you more than three or four minutes of actual gameplay.

Its story is what keeps you playing: you always want to know what's going to happen next (I want more!). Sadly to say, Asura's Wrath is barely six hours long, which is very short for a full-price game (capcom!).
There's incredible union between gameplay and theme in Asura's Wrath: there's no better genre than the action game for a story about a very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very (I could do this all day!) angry man channeling his rage into an all-consuming destructive power. It is a game that is story based and lacks  in substance (said clean and simple of course !). But still I liked it (What? I can’t help but love Asura’s Wrath for having the bravery to try something completely new!). To sum up: you should absolutely play Asura’s Wrath, because it’s an experience like no other, but be aware of its content before you put down your cash (Capcom!).

So this is my verdict:

7.5/10

That is the score.

Halloween 2013 special review - Tim Burton's The Nightmare Before Christmas: Oogie's Revenge Review

This is Halloween! This is Halloween! Listen to us sing...the same (damn) thing! Over and over again till the end of the game – god damn it! (Capcom)... no not really !

Yes this was the game that I chose to review for the Halloween, my special choice - but first let me put this simple; I love this game, i love the movie… so let´s start OK.
The game was Designed to work as a sequel to the cult favorite stop-motion animated film ,Tim Burton's The Nightmare Before Christmas still remains widely popular in Japan (of course  Capcom developing the game and releasing it exclusively in Japan). But most people who have more than a casual fancy for the film are Hot Topic-loving mall Goth’s and creepy Tim Burton fanatics (…or both). The developers clearly went to a lot of work to re-create the delightfully weird characters of the film, going so far as to include elaborate musical numbers and all sorts of subtle visual details. But while the game is a success on this front, sorry to said this (it pain´s me), it's not really 100% much fun to play. Charm and atmosphere certainly help, but this is a game we're talking about after all, and without quality gameplay to back it up; in terms of charm and atmosphere, you basically suck (but as a fan of the fill I love the game so screw you-  Let´s be honest Capcom was afraid that Disney would fall on them just like it did to squareenix because of "Kingdon Hearts".) So let’s talk about the game in general.
Basically, Oogie's Revenge is a hack-and-slash with some platforming and rhythm gaming tossed in for good measure. Upgrades are available for the soul robber (your main weapon), but generally speaking, you'll be repeating a lot of the same attacks. Over time, you can earn new costumes for Jack that will provide some new attacks (spoiler Alert!).

Christmas Jack, for instance, can toss presents that stun enemies in different ways, and Pumpkin King Jack can spit fire.

More often, though, you'll be using the soul robber and repeating the same basic attacks over and over (and over again). You’ll be playing some manner of fetch for one of the random townspeople, running back and forth, backtracking way too much. The boss fights are pretty much the lone bright spot of the gameplay even though they repeat the spider boss over 4 times (geez.....). Here, you'll typically find yourself running around and punching the boss character in his (showy though u cant miss it,but if u do miss it u are a noob! ) weak spot or spots, while musical notes spit out of the said boss. Once you collect enough of these notes to fill a note bar, you'll launch into what can be a quite challenging musical rhythm game. Successfully completing the game causes Jack to launch a super powerful attack at the boss, which does a lot of damage. If you screw it up, you'll still launch an attack, but a much weaker one. Unfortunately, these fights don't pop up terribly often, so you'll have to sift through a lot of tasks and search to get to the good parts.

Unfortunately, things like jacked-up camera angles and periodically obnoxious frame rates do distract, to be honest it reminded me a bit of "Devil May Cry" or "Resident Evil (classic version )", maybe it was the same team that made it ,so engine must the same... maybe!. Well If you loved "The Nightmare Before Christmas", there might be a rental's worth of enjoyment to be found in "Oogie's Revenge" ( because i did!). If you're anything but a hardcore fan, though you better spend your time somewhere else or do something else, but in my opinion you may still like it.
So this is my verdict:

6/10
